Child Counseling/Play Therapy
Child Counseling / Play Therapy
Mindful Counseling is proud to offer developmentally responsive counseling services to address the needs of even our youngest clients. Childhood comes with it’s own set of struggles, and for young children, it can be quite a confusing process to understand their world and the emotions that come with it. We utilize play therapy to support children between the ages of 3-10 years old.
What is play therapy?
Simply put, play therapy is for children what counseling is for adults.
Play is a child’s first language, and their most natural form of communication. Even very talkative children are not able to express and understand their experiences and emotions in the same ways adults can. In play therapy, a trained play therapist uses a child’s natural way of communicating to promote self-expression and growth.
