Jasmaine Cash

Licensed Master Social Worker

“I think sometimes we can lose sight of our own power, and that can make it feel like we never had any to begin with. It’s my goal in counseling to empower my clients so that they can empower themselves.”
Jasmaine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her master’s degree in clinical social work at the University of Texas at Austin. Jasmaine has worked in a variety of settings. She trained alongside her supervisors at Communities in Schools and Austin State Hospital while pursuing her degree. After graduating, she went to work for Communities in Schools full-time, where she worked with adolescents and families, and later the University of North Texas as a counselor in the Counseling and Testing department. Beyond counseling, working at UNT also provided Jasmaine with the opportunity to become a diversity and inclusion trainer. She has received training in anti-oppression and social justice work and has also planned and facilitated several trainings for others seeking to be involved in that work. She has experience working with children, aged 11-17 and adults from 18 and onward. She provides individual counseling and has experience running a variety of groups focused on relationship and interpersonal skill development.

“There are millions of possibilities for the future, but it’s up to you to choose which becomes your reality.” – Garnet from Steven Universe

Her style is highly collaborative and flexible with the goal of attuning to the type of work the client wants to do and where they’d like to start. Jasmaine’s goal for all her clients is for them to understand their inherent value and worth as a person, grow in self-awareness and awareness of others, and live life as authentically as possible.
