Amanda Hare

Counseling Student Intern supervised by Sarah Robinson

Amanda is a graduate intern at Mindful Counseling supporting adolescents (12-17) and adults ages 18 and up. She is passionate about working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, body image concerns and disordered eating, relationship concerns, and coping with major life transitions. She is LGBTQ+ affirming and holds a safe space for clients from all marginalized communities, including neurodivergent and BIPOC individuals. She takes a warm, client-focused approach, helping people explore their unique values, find meaning in their experiences, and grow in ways that feel authentic to them, while blending in modalities such as somatic practices, expressive arts, and Reiki. In her free time, she enjoys taking aerial hoop classes, baking, thrifting, and spending time with her two cats.
Amanda Hare holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Texas and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNT, with an expected graduation date of August 2026. She has worked with adult clients at the UNT Counseling and Human Development Center, supporting individuals in addressing personal challenges and fostering growth. Amanda has also gained experience in health promotion in higher education, guiding students in their wellness journeys and leading workshops on body image, self-care, and mental health. Additionally, she has facilitated peer-led support groups through the RISE Center at UNT, including Recovery Dharma and EveryBody, to support students navigating recovery from addiction and body image concerns. Amanda strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel safe to bring their whole selves, explore life’s challenges, and build self-acceptance, authenticity, and empowerment.

"Authenticity is not something we have or don't have. It's a practice- a conscious choice of how we want to live. Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen." - Brene Brown

Amanda's Counseling Approach

Amanda’s approach to counseling is collaborative and client-directed. She sees her role as walking alongside clients on their journeys of self-discovery, supporting them in making choices that feel right for their growth and healing. Amanda believes that people are naturally striving to grow and become their truest, most authentic selves, and that a genuine, supportive environment makes that possible. With this foundation, she works with individuals to explore what matters most to them, face life’s challenges with courage and integrity, and embrace all parts of being human. Through this process, she helps clients find moments of clarity and self-expression that guide their next steps. Amanda also incorporates body-based, somatic work to help people reconnect with their bodies and express the fullness of who they are.
