Angel Koenig

M.Ed., LPC-S, Reiki Practitioner
Owner of Mindful Counseling
Doctoral Candidate

Angel Koenig is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with a passion for supporting mothers who carry the weight of childhood trauma into their parenting. She works with women who often find themselves overcompensating, grappling with shame, guilt, or uncertainty about how to navigate motherhood. Angel creates a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore these experiences, helping clients depersonalize their struggles by recognizing the systemic pressures and unrealistic expectations placed on mothers. Her goal is to walk alongside women as they reconnect with their voice, their intuition, and their humanity in the midst of parenting.

In addition to her work with mothers, Angel supports individuals navigating life transitions and those feeling disconnected from their inner wisdom. Many of her clients arrive unsure of how to trust themselves, and she values helping them reconnect with their internal guidance so that it—rather than external pressures—can lead the way.

Her clinical approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and Gestalt practices, while also honoring intuitive and spiritual modalities. Depending on client interest and comfort, she may incorporate practices like tarot or oracle cards, astrology, or energy work—what she affectionately refers to as a little “woo” that can open new perspectives and deepen self-understanding.

Angel is a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Oregon State University. Her dissertation focuses on mothers navigating the impact of trauma within the broader context of systemic motherhood pressures. She holds a Master’s in Counseling (M.Ed.) and advanced training in somatic trauma therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, Reiki (Level I & II), and 200-hour yoga teacher training. As an LPC-S, she also provides supervision for new counselors entering the field.

“Trauma is not what happens to us. But what we hold inside in the absence of an empathic witness.” -Peter Levine
